Resource Guides

The housing resource guide is in English and Spanish and provides information about financial and other resources to help with your housing needs. Printed booklets are available at City Hall.

Handyman Classes

Through the St. James Healthy Housing Initiative, the City discovered a demand from residents for handyman able to complete small jobs. We also discovered many residents interested in learning about being a handyman and what the proper steps are to take.

Interested in transitioning from doing work without a license and learning how to become a handyman? With topics such as: what is a handyman, registration, application for handyman exemption, renewal requirements and costs, workers’ compensation, building permits, building inspections, resources, and next steps to becoming a full contractor.

Course 1: March 13th 9:00 am – 11:00 am OR 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (choose one)

Course 2: March 27th 9:00 am – 11:00 am OR 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (choose one)
